Research-Regulations #48

Regulations

Regulations is how things are regulated its in the name for example based on age on many things like films, video games, music videos and more. Couple weeks ago I did essay on a music video called Redrum by 21 savage. The music video was regulated by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC) in the UK.

The Redrum music video has not been officially rated by the BBFC or the ESRB. However, considering its explicit content and violent imagery, it would likely receive a "15" or "18" rating from the BBFC in the UK due as stated for the content. Although in the United States it has become  restricted to adult audiences only. The video features graphic depictions of violence and strong language, which are considered inappropriate for younger audiences. due to use of the term "Redrum," a reference to the horror film The Shining, adds to the video's mature

There are many theories of Media in which are used for many types of media. In my opinion in which is the most relevant or regulation explains the most concerns. The hypodermic needle theory.

This theory suggests that audiences passively absorb media messages and are directly influenced by them. In the case of Redrum, regulators might have been concerned that the graphic violence depicted in the video could lead to imitation by viewers, particularly younger audiences.

Cultivation Theory is another theory that also suits good the case of Redrum according to this theory, prolonged exposure to media content can shape an individual's perceptions of reality. A concern is that   repeated exposure to the violent imagery in Redrum could cultivate a desensitization to violence among viewers.

The audience reactions to Redrum have been mixed. Some viewers appreciate the video's artistic expression and the mature themes, while others criticize it for its content. Media reactions have also varied, with some outlets praising the video's boldness and others expressing concern over its potential impact on audiences.

in conclusion what I have gathered for my A level production which is the age restriction to ensure that the product is not age restricted however me and my group have not decided what our A level film is going to be.
