Research - Regulation Case Study sum up and tie up with A level project #51

Regulation Case Study sum up and tie up with A level project

Hello This case study highlights how a film's origin dictates its approach to media regulation. Using the "David and Goliath" analogy, the Goliath focuses on a broad rating for maximum profit, while the David  prioritizes creative vision and uses rating flexibility strategically.

Spider-Man: No Way Home  my Goliath needed a PG-13 rating to ensure massive global appeal. Its main regulatory challenge was external censorship the China ban forcing a choice between revenue and integrity. The primary focus was global market access.
The Blair Witch Project  my David had creative control due to its low budget. An R rating didn't hinder its strategy. The core controversy was its viral, ambiguous marketing campaign, which cleverly used regulatory gaps in early internet advertising to boost its appeal and profitability.
Ultimately, regulation strategy is a business decision. Conglomerates play it safe to secure market share, while independent films leverage creative freedom and controversy as unique paths to success. This allows me understand how media is affected by regulation which will be helpful

Here is A voice over of me explaining my case study in further detail and answering some questions:
